Designed from the ground up for the unique capabilities of VR, players can inhabit the spine-tingling world of The Room and interact with its strange contraptions in this compelling new chapter. The game begins deep within The British Institute of Archaeology, where the disappearance of an esteemed Egyptologist prompts a Police investigation into the unknown. Explore cryptic locations, examine fantastic gadgets and discover an otherworldly element which blurs the line between reality and illusion.

We’re delighted to bring our puzzle adventure game ‘The Room VR: A Dark Matter’ to PlayStation VR2, and if you already own the PlayStation 4 version you can get a FREE UPGRADE!

We appreciate releasing the next game in The Room series exclusively on VR may come as a disappointment to some fans of our mobile games, however after 8 years and four games on mobile, we felt it was time to take a step back and try something new. So early on in development we decided to explore how new technologies could add to our unique gaming experience and further immerse our players in the mysterious world of The Room. We’ve always been big fans of VR, and the opportunity to bring The Room into virtual reality seemed like a great way to do that. That isn’t to say that we’ll never make another mobile game – we haven’t planned beyond the current game, so if we have a great idea for a game set in The Room universe which would be more suited to mobile then that’s definitely something we’d consider!

Are you giving up on mobile? After 8 years and four games in The Room series on mobile, we felt it was time to take a step back and try something new. We’ve always been big fans of VR, and the opportunity to bring The Room into virtual reality seemed like a great way to do that. That isn’t to say that we’ll never make another mobile Room game – we haven’t planned beyond the current game, and if we have a great idea for a Room game more suited to mobile then that’s definitely something we’d consider!

Why VR? – We’ve always felt that the Room series would be incredibly well suited to VR, but it never felt like the right time to take that step. The release of more powerful and accessible headsets has finally allowed us to pursue this interest as a viable option.

What is VR?VR stands for Virtual Reality. In order to play VR games, you need a VR headset + corresponding controller(s). The headset contains screens within it which allow you to see the gameplay – any head or hand movements carried out while wearing the headset will correlate to what you see within the headset. It can make for quite an immersive experience!
