EXPERIENCED PROGRAMMER
Fireproof Studios are looking for an experienced programmer to help us manage our back-catalogue of award winning games. This would include updating and maintaining the games on their current platforms, and porting them to new platforms. This is a hybrid role, requiring at least 2 days a week of work in our office in Guildford.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Get the games running on new platforms
- Integrate any platform services required (e.g. Achievements, Cloud Saving)
- Where possible improve the graphical features to fit the platform (in conjunction with the art team), and optimise to achieve stable performance
- Where necessary implement any new controller interfaces (e.g. touchscreen, mouse) and make any changes to the game to make it play well.
- Deal with any compliance issues of the platform
- Fix any bugs
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 4+ years of professional games programming experience.
- Familiarity with a range of different hardware and ecosystems (e.g. Apple, Android, Switch, PlayStation, PC)
- Familiarity with the Unity engine
- An ability to work independently and maintain very high standards
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- Experience with Svn and Perforce source control
- Familiarity with the publishing dashboards of some or all of the platforms
- Experience of setting up and maintaining CI systems (e.g. TeamCity or Jenkins)
